A POS is something your team uses hundreds of times a day. The right one fits your workflow; the wrong one creates new problems. Use this checklist before you decide.
Start with your workflow
- Do you serve dine-in, takeaway, delivery — or all three?
- Do captains take orders at the table?
- How many kitchen stations do you have?
- Do you sell anything by weight?
- How many outlets do you run, or plan to?

Questions to ask in a demo
- How long does setup take, and who does it?
- How are staff trained?
- What happens if the internet goes down?
- What hardware is supported?
- How is pricing calculated as you add outlets or modules?
- What support is available after go-live?
Look beyond billing
Billing is the starting point. Think about inventory, recipe costing, customer data and reports — even if you don't need them on day one, you'll want them as you grow.
Try it with your own menu
Ask to see the system with items similar to yours. A demo with a generic menu hides the details that matter most to your team.
